Robbery suspect shot and killed by intended victim
By MIKE MORRIS The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday, January 15, 2009 A robbery suspect was shot six times and killed by his intended victim outside an East Atlanta Village bar Wednesday night, police said. The incident occurred shortly before midnight in the 1200 block of Glenwood Avenue in southeast Atlanta, about two miles from the scene of last weeks high-profile killing of a bar worker near Grant Park. In the Wednesday incident, a man and woman had just left the Graveyard Tavern and were sitting inside their car waiting for the vehicle to warm up when a man approached with a gun and demanded money, Atlanta police Sgt. Lisa Keyes told WAGA-TV. At that time, the male inside the vehicle pulled his own weapon and shot [the] suspect six times, Keyes said. The unidentified suspect died at the scene. Police were treating it as a case of self-defense. Last week, Grant Park bartender John Henderson was shot and killed during an armed robbery at Standard Food & Spirits on Memorial Drive. His death prompted area residents to voice concern about rising crime. |

Anybody worth shooting is worth shooting twice.
But 6 times? :111: |
Re: Stories that make your day--
My guess is he had a six shot revolver and unloaded it. Good job unless there was more than one assailant.

Sure... after two times they become target practice. May as well take the chance to improve your aim. :tongue_ma: |

I've always told myself when the time comes, assuming one assailant, keep pulling the trigger until all I get is a click.

It is sad there is a dead man, but better a bad dead man than a good one...

Firing out of a vehicle?
Is this ever a challange in the legal sense? Be well. |

As is Florida, if I recall correctly you can have it ready to go and don't need to keep it in the glove box, if you so please. |

It's not target practice at the range, you don't have time to stare downrange and focus on a smooth trigger pull when a thug is all up in your face. You do what comes natural, and unload whatever you have to stay alive! That's the ONLY downfall to a small revolver like I carry, is the fact that it is only 5-6 rounds before needing reloading. You would be amazed at the amount of shots it might take to take down a thug attacking you at close range! 2 shots and they are likely to not even realize they have been hit, so if you want to risk it, go ahead. I'm going to keep firing until it catches fire or dissinigrates! Plus, your motor skills diminish quickly with the adrenaline dump you will get, and you might try to only fire one or two shots, but you are likely to unload. Ask anyone that has actually been in a gun fight, you will get the same story. |
